It's time to kick your chair to the curb and get back on your feet at work. An alarming statistic shows that American full-time workers sit too much - and it's killing us. Sitting Disease, a term coined by the medical community, is causing an increasing number of Americans to gain weight, develop chronic diseases, and even die prematurely.

The easiest and most effective solution is to get up and move around more often. But with conference calls, emails and deadlines, the average American office or professional worker might find it hard to step away from their desk.

Kathleen Hale, Co-Founder and CEO of Rebel Desk explains why stand-up and treadmill desks are ideal for the workspace. "As much as we might like to think we'll schedule walking meetings, stand up during calls, or take a lap around the block at lunch, those things require planning and are hard to implement. But when you have the option to stand or walk right at our fingertips, it becomes easy to change behaviors."
