Colleges across USA saw a 17% increase in online enrollment, with more than 1 in 4 students taking at least 1 online course in the fall 2008. Private universities have seen dramatic growth each year, while their public counterparts have seen a slight decline in online enrollment since its peak in 2004.
Online education opportunities are becoming more and more attractive as the diversity and needs of students change. Traditional schooling is quickly changing to accommodate schedules and the preferred means of communication of the students.
