What is Performance Assessment of Competency Education (PACE) Infographic
New Hampshire is transforming the way we assess our children's learning and progress. The pilot Performance Assessment of Competency Education (PACE) program replaces standardized tests in four grades with locally developed, rigorous, project-based performance assessments. By putting teachers and support teams in charge of assessment, schools can tailor the assessments to their students while keeping the validity of a statewide assessment.
These assessments are challenging, interesting, and make students show what they know instead of filling in a bubble on a test. They help students develop 21st century skills like critical thinking, collaboration, and creativity: skills they'll need to succeed in tomorrow's economy.
