Education in the United States has changed over the years and not for the better. The United States had one of the best educational program and was ranked first in the world for graduation rate. Now, the U.S. has dropped in rank to have one of the lower graduation rates amongst its peers of developed countries. There are many possible reasons for this gap in education. In recent years, such subjects as social studies and science have been put on the back-burner in order for school districts to focus on reading and math.
