Recycling isn't always easy. That's why it's so important to educate people about what can and can't be recycled and how to get things to the proper recycling center when necessary. Some garbage that can be recycled, like e waste and CFL light bulbs, can seriously contaminate the groundwater when sent to a regular landfill. And they are just so easy to recycle if you know where to take them - oftentimes big box stores have collection bins for things like rechargeable batteries and home improvement stores will collect CFL bulbs for proper recycling. Then there are things like televisions and old paint cans that are often collected for recycling at hazardous materials drop off locations by your local city or county government. Keeping these things out of landfills is crucial if we want our grandchildren to be able to pass down a clean planet to their grandchildren.

Just tossing things into the recycling bin and hoping for the best isn't going to cut it anymore. It's time to learn the basics of recycling and make sure your family does the same. Are you recycling as much as you could?
